SFD

What is SFD?

SFD replaces the older login and [Security Access] codes you may have seen on V.A.G cars. Previously when doing things like brake pad replacement, you may have used a [Security Access] code to unlock the module and retract the callipers so you could push the pistons back and replace the brake pads

On later model cars this has been replaced with a two way handshake between the diagnostic tool/car and VW/Audi online servers. 

VCDS can now process the handshake online with the VW/Audi servers and unlock modules on the later model cars

IMPORTANT. To avoid delays, please see the requirements for user registration before ordering (NOTE: these are not Ross-Techs' rules, these are required by VW Audi Group)
1, SFD registrations are for individuals, not companies. For this reason, please ensure that the person registering for SFD is the same person the interface is registered to

    When you register your HEX-V2 or HEX-NET, please use your company name and address, a work email and for the name, please use the person who will be using the interface so that the SFD registration and VCDS registration can be tied together by name

2, You will need a photo ID to register for SFD (Ross-Tech do not keep a copy of the ID, but need it for the registration process)
