Is VAUX-COM compatible with Windows 7 and 8?

Yes, VAUX-COM runs on Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 (Vista, 7 and 8 are ok in 32 or 64 bit)

I've got a desktop and a laptop machine in my garage. Can I use the software on both?
Yes. The license allows you to run the software on more than one machine, although you can only use one at the same time because you need to plug the hardware interface in to connect to the car.

Is the hardware USB or Serial, and how long is the cable?
It's USB and has a 2 metre cable

I've seen/bought this cheap on ebay, is it real?

No, the cheap ones you see on ebay are fake or chinese copies and if you've bought one, you should complain to ebay and try to get your money back. Under no circumstances should you plug it into your car, or run the software they supplied as there's a high chance that when you buy fake or stolen software, you'll also get malware and a virus or two along for the ride
