1999 Mitsubishi Galant VR4

Hi, I have recentlt purchased an elm 323 based ISO interpreter to intterogat my 1999 2.5 twin turbo Mitsubishi Galant VR4. The car is an import, but was available in the UK from 2000-2002. I dont seem to be able to get any communication and wondered if anyone could tell me if it was ISO 9141 compliant? I have confirmed that the connector has only a K line connection, but I am unsure of the relevance of this.

I have contacted the dealer who claim for the VR4 (and only the VR4) they need a separate rom pack for their scanner, why should this be? Is ISO9141 not ISO9141 in Japan???

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi im a tech at a mitsubishi main dealer and we need a japan rom pack for our mutt tester dont know why but normal one won work
