Q1: What is VAG-COM?
A: It is a full diagnostic tool that allows you to read and clear codes, read live data, program control units and much more on Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT and Skoda vehicles.

Q2: Can it reset service lights?
A: Yes, it can reset all service interval reminders including fixed and variable service displays. You can even decide how long until it comes back on

Q3: Is it easy to use?
A: Yes. All the screens have clearly labelled choices so for example if you want to read the codes from the engine, you click engine, read codes and that's it! The codes are displayed clearly with number and full text meaning. Clearing codes is one button click away, and you can save or print the codes for later.

Q4: Can I see some screenshots?
A: Certainly, click to this page to see screenshots and more details http://www.ilexa.co.uk/content/category/2/4/17/

Q5: Where can I buy it?
A: You can buy Vag-com direct from our website at http://www.ilexa.co.uk/acatalog/vagcom.html

Q6: Do I get technical support?
A: Yes, all our customers get free telephone, fax or email technical support. You can also use this free technical help forum to ask for help and information. You might find someone else has already asked the same question and the answer is here so do a quick search or read through first

Q7: I can't find the answer here and I don't have time to wait for a reply, where else can I look up information about VAG-COM, adaptions, coding and other procedures on the net?
A1: There are many great resources for VAG-COM. Ross-Tech provide lots of information on their website at www.ross-tech.com and have also made searchable 'wiki' at  http://wiki.ross-tech.com
A2: Sebastian has compiled a list of codings for many VAG cars and modules at http://de.openobd.org/ Note, some of the codings are in German only so use a translation tool such as Google translate http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fde.openobd.org%2F&langpair=de%7Cen&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&prev=%2Flangauge_tools

Q8: I've got a question not answered anywhere here, where shall I ask?.
A: If it's a technical help question and you bought your tool from us, please call us on 01726 883 964. If it's about using the tool you bought somewhere else, please use the forum. NOTE: If you bought your interface somewhere else and can't get it working, you should speak to the seller.

Q9: I bought an interface on EBAY, but it doesn't work. Why not?
A: Questions about items bought on EBAY or from other websites should be directed to the seller. It is not possible for us to offer support for tools bought from other suppliers

Q10: I used a USB to serial converter and it doesn't work. Why not?
A: VAG-COM works perfectly with genuine USB interfaces like the HEX-USB and HEX-USB+CAN. If you want to use VAG-COM with USB, you will need to buy a genuine Ross-Tech supported USB interface
