Morning all ,A4 1.8 petrol 1999 active camshaft  timing adjustment angle engine code ADY

checking of (active camshaft  timing adjustment angle )

its not on VCDS ?? anywhere

looking at workshop manual

should be under measuring block 26 column 4 ??

anyone know why ?

From memory ADY is a 2.0 8v engine?

As for this car, have you checked to see if it has the camshaft adjuster fitted? Not all of the 20v engines did.

It will be ADR, the cam adjustment test may not be on that ECU, it would be around 094 if it was there but I think that ECU only has an ignition on output test function.

Sorry guys, ADR crasher and Derek your right mate ,yes it has adjuster fitted ,i bought it with belt gone

only reason i ask ,was looking at GEO ,and DOCs post just wondered if i could help with diagnosis

ADR camshaft tensioner/adjuster is a mechanical one working off the oil pressure to advance the timing.
strange for a 99 model to have one of these as they went to electronic control around 97 ..
