Kurt, when you say "fuel injector needle lift is not possible" I take it you mean "not allowed".

There isn't enough pressure in the hydraulic side of the injector to lift the needle, nothing to do with the electrical side of the injector

hope this makes sense

System is Siemens. On the times when this fault occurs the car will instantly start if pushed. Can anyone shed any light as to how that would improve rail pressure or am I missing something obvious here.. Roll Eyes

Hi
My thoughts on this scenario is:
If the fuel pump is failing and only just providing fuel rail pressure which is absolutely on the knife edge of allowing it to work or not, then any drain of the power supply away from the fuel pump would push it over the edge. Hence why when you bump start it, it works.
Just a thought  Tongue

EDIT
Oops  Embarrassed Embarrassed
Just noticed that it doesn't have an electric fuel pump (only for additive

Bump start would spin the engine/pump faster than the starter.

With this vehicle having been in a lot of bits (DMF etc..) what the engine earths like?
