I have an Audi a4 2001 draining battery after just two days when left idle and have noticed that the hazard warning switch remains dimly illuminated night and day. Is this normal or possibly a convenience module problem!.

Hi,
Looks like it could be the convenience module, i'd have thought there would be other symptoms though.
Has it any other problems, have you started pulling fuses to see what else is draining it?
It would take more than a dim hazard flasher unit to drain the battery over 2 days.

Hi,
Same age as this one, I had one draining the battery at a rate of 270mA.

I noticed the Hazard switch was dimly glowing 1/2 hour after locking it all down.

After a bit of head scratching it was traced to a faulty N/S/F door lock/ latch keeping the door controller / convenience module awake.

A new lock/ latch fitted resolved it.

have had same problem once or twice, also as suggested convenience modules can also become waterlogged because drain holes inder bonner become blocked and the water backs up over the heater box and under the carpet which is where the module is.

I shoud have said -
I've had the same fault as ADH, but the module was swamped by the drain bung under the battery clogging with leafy sludge.

Filling the scuttle with water & tipping Lake Audi down the cabin filter sink hole.

My inder bonner drain holes were okay Grin
