Hi all,

In shop we have a Chevrolet Captiva 3.2 V6 24V 4x4 2008. In the dash the oil can with spanner light is on. According to the manual this is a oil service light.

https://www.gmproductforum.co.uk/articles/1437.pdf

We used the procedure as described in several tech info systems, Autodata, Esitronic:
  • Switch on ignition
  • Fully press throttle pedal 3 times within 5 seconds
  • Switch of ignition

No luck.

Then we tried several tools like KTS650, X431 and OP_COM. None of them was able to perform an reset.
Seems like this one has an oil life sensor that needs to be reset with factory tool.

Anybody?

Took this car to the Chevrolet dealership. The mechanic was pretty sure the throttle pedal method should work. So he tried but did not succeed. The diagnostic OEM tool was needed to reset the light.
