Car has been in to bodyshop for a medium sized repair to o/s/f corner, new wing, front panel etc.

Called out to it today at owners address, alarm does not appear to be working.

When pressing the remote the central locking works but the indicators do not flash to confirm alarm activation and when unlocked the indicators do not flash or the interior light does not illuminate.

I have also tried to set the alarm off but it does not work.

Checked all fuses etc and scanned with both Launch & IDS but not a single fault in any modules.

It almost seems as if the alarm has been deactivated and just needs reactivation, maybe through a proceedure with the remote control (this is a key type system not keyless), but the owners handbook is as much use as a chocolate fireguard.

Bit of a long shot really, but just wondered if anyone here had come across this before?

Regards, Gary
P.s  the immobiliser is working and the LED is flashing away on the dash

To be honest, i did look for alarm activation test in IDS but all i could find was alarm activation logs and alarm module which were clean.

Thinking about it, i guess i should of checked the bonnet switch, but if this was faulty i would think that the alarm would go off randomly like the Mondeo's.

Only other thing is that the Low tone horn was'nt working either, though i cannot see that having any impact on alarm operation?

It just seems like the alarm has been deactivated, like a "transport" mode or similar....
