hope someone can help
this was towed in today from the dealers.they have had it a week and changed high pressure pump, cam sensor, crank sensor and had injectors tested.dont know full story other than it doesnt start.it cranks over but none start.
checked with diagnostic and only fault is [permanent fault.camshaft/crankshaft synchronisation.no camshaft sensor signal]
the dealers have rewired both sensors from ecu to sensor we have checked all wiring to sensors we have 5v reference and earth to each sensor and get a signal from both when cranking.the workshop foreman at the dealers has told us that the timing is spot on.
is there any known problems with cams or flywheel to cause this problem
i think this a mechanical fault but we are auto electricians so dont go too deep into engine work
thanks in advance

What's the engine code - many versions.

Have any of the fingers on the cam sensor reluctor plate got bent?

What's the fuel rail pressure when cranking?

Hi Kev
Has the timing been checked by just  checking the marks or with dti? Also are you looking at the sensors at the ecu or at the plug on the engine harness?  Smiley

angus will post engine code tommorow ,not sure about cam reluctor plate, would fuel pressure log this code
sparki1  the dealers have actually wired fresh wiring from both sensors to ecu to eliminate any wiring problems ,not sure what you mean by dti

Dial test indicator. Grin Used to detirmine exact hight of cam against piston hight to measure cam timing exactly. Smiley

Rule of thumb, never believe what another garage has said they have tested. Always check it out for yourself.

Low fuel pressure when cranking will log no code - there always exists the possibility of a red-herring.

Why would they change the pump and test the injectors if the fuel pressure was OK?
