Anyone have a location of MAP sensor on this 2.0 CRDi? Looking at live data Map sensor shows as 19 Kpa ignition on engine off, no info on AD!
I believe it's same engine in Hyundai.

Regards

Gary

I've got nothing on it either.  MAP should be 100KPa KOEO; so it's definitely suspect.

It's either going to be on the end of a rubber tube - or bolted to something on the inlet tract; manifold, intercooler, pressure ducting, etc.

Had intercooler off and engine top cover, nothing in pipe work or on inlet manifold. Traced all vac pipes still no luck. Roll Eyes

Just spoke to dealer and they say this car doesn't have a map sensor. So how am I getting 19 kpa in live data and how does ecu know what the boost pressure is?
It has a solenoid on bulkhead for control of boost via duty cycle.

Gary,
Not 100% but I'm almost certain they don't have one. What did you read it with? What problem has the car?

It's a wastegate turbo though isn't it?

Goes in to limp mode now any again, I can only read eobd and no codes stored. Have smoke tested all pipework for leaks and all is OK.
I roadtested earlier and it's not misbehaving for me.

Turbo boost is controlled via a duty cycle solenoid on bulk head.

Gary,

Could the MAP sensor be in the ECU?

Just a thought, have scanned through all my info and can't find anything on it

Cheers

KIA workshop manual:

"Atmospheric sensor is installed in ECM and senses atmospheric pressure where the vehicle is. Based on singal of atmospheric sensor, air density is calculated. And atmospheric sensor is used to detect mass air flow with MAFS, IATS. This sensor is required to perform 1) fuel injection quantity correction in high altitude and 2) EGR control. Atmospheric pressure is fixed at 1050hpa when atmospheric sensor fails."
