thanks steve i dont have a diagram for this particular car the bsm is very hard to get to my arm is swolen as ive not taken the whole lot apart . a wiring diagram would be the answer . as all of the contacts seem ok and the relay is brand new .if the unit has shut itself down the only way of testing would i imagine a continuity test of all the wiring from the relay to the indicator . if you could e mail a copy that would be great . ile have a go tomorow at unpluging the bcu and refitting ie a reboot but that is clutching at straws . but ile keep you informed ...........ta ta for now ....

steve
nothing wrong with vauxcom, but maybe the code description could be written in plain language i.e open circuit or short circuit. I have had cars where short circuit on five engine items actually was an ECU supply relay bad contacts
back to the Mervera problem
the fault can only be low or high resistance on the indicator circuit , faulty flasher relay or BCU
so to prove we need to test Right and left circuits
the fault codes arnt that helpfull really and just tell us we have a fault in the circuit
regards

Hi Barry,

Yes, I understand you perfectly. Please do not take that as an offense.

These systems are very complex indeed, and the "serial" diagnostic does not always helps.

In very frequently, you have to do measurements, component checking, looking for a burnt, or corroded connectors, etc. to get down to the real fault. That's true.

We didn't want to change the fault code description, because if you have access to Technical Information System (TIS), or any other  repair manual, you will need these exact codes, and descriptions to find the related information.

As you see, there are three different fault code text description for the B3795 fault code.

To Shuggy:

Currently, I do not know any easier way to follow:

The BCU is part of the vehicle immobiliser system, but I think, that for testing, you can swap with another one, from a different car.
This cannot do any harm on any car. Of course, the car will not start, and there will be many codes, concerning the immobiliser, wrong VIN, etc., but you will be able to test the turn signal. If the BCU is faulty, then you have to replace it, the programming can be done with a suitable diagnostic tool.

Shuggy, if you have the original relay/s you can use the to help with proving some of the circuit. Take the lid off the relay/s and trace the pins that go to the contacts.

While the relay is in place you can check the voltages at the contacts and hold the relay closed to check the supply is stable. I suspect the supply to the relay contacts is at fault since you have no external lights working at all.
