We have one dip beam HID out- have swapped bulbs and the "transformer/inverter ? metal box" from side to side. peering inside the headlamp the bulb goes to another rectangular black box within,
Firstly how to get the headlight out --two screws on top and where underneath ( one screw behind the wheel arch trim was suggested on an audi site)

secondly any tips on possible faults/ testing

cheers

Barry

I've had the same on a TT - intermittent function on one side after body repair.

Swapping bulbs didn't work; there were no codes in either lamp's ECU and it ended up with a new light unit from Audi [£798!] as that ballast isn't available separately [like normal cars!]

Getting it out gave the fitters a right game; 2 hours.  Bumper off; wing liner out; top panel... all sorts of bits everywhere and there was indeed a fixing in the arch.
