'53 scudo 1.9 d  at times the front brakes stick on, the brake pedal looses the free play at the top of the pedal, it seems to be worse after  20 miles but will sometimes run all day without fault. i've replaced the front hoses & master cylinder to no avail and adjusted the rod on top of the pedal to see if it affects operation without any obvious changes.servo's next unless any ideas? When you say brakes stick on do you mean they just go hard? Have you checked the vacuum pump and drive gear?

I had a 99 Peugeot Expert (same van, but older) 1.9 TD a while ago with the same problem, it was a problem inside the brake servo which allowed a gradual build up of pressure to the master cylinder, thus applying the brakes.
