Hi
Is it possible to swop a faulty instrument cluster from the above vehicle with a exact replacement from a scrap vehicle.
It looks like it is immo 2 for the text that appears on the extra field.
If it is possible could someone please explain please.
Di I have to mess with skc which I won't be able to get.
Thanks for any replies.
JK

It will need coding into the ECU which will be easier if you have the keys from the donor car.

If you contact BBA REMAN they can repair the existing unit for you and recoding will not be required. From collection to return is usually about four or five days.AUTOTEK in poole dorset can also be of help with these units.

Adaption with a used dash insert J285 is possible but has to be adapted to engine ECU then your keys will have to be adapted to the instrument cluster as it contains the immobiliser control unit. Not sure why Crasher wanted the old keys tho?

The key code from the donor car is stored in the donor dash panel.

Not needed if on-line coding and adaptation are used.

Using Geko the immobiliser secret code is hidden away so you never see the code the old 4 digit way which you must be talking about Crasher cant be retreived through J285 only the immobiliser 14 digit number can be accessed.

The 14 digit code can be accessed but VAG won't give out the 7 digit SKC, unless you live in the USA.

Volkswagen were going over to the 7 digit immobiliser number Crasher instead now use the Geko system. Seat and Skoda use a 4 digit secret code but in both cases you can only retrieve the 14 digit immobiliser number.
