The Scanmaster tool will work on any EOBD or OBD2 compliant car and gives you fault codes and live data on the engine management system It is a legal requirement for cars sold in the US or Europe including the UK to comply with one of the following rules. NOTE, this does not apply to grey import cars which usually do not comply and so do not work with any OBD2 or EOBD tool
Scanmaster works with all EOBD cars, which are:
- Petrol cars made for sale in Europe on or after January 2001
- Diesel cars made for sale in Europe after 2003 /2004
And it also works with all OBD2 cars which are:
- Petrol cars made for sale in the US after 1996
Scanmaster also works with many earlier cars such as Ford petol cars using EECV including Escorts from around 1999, Vauxhall diesels from around 1997, and many early Volvo cars. Note, that although some early cars do give good results, because there is no legal requirement for the cars to comply with any set standard please call or email us before buying so we can check for compatibilty with your car
ScanMaster can now read full dealer level fault codes on many Vauxhall and Alfa Romeo cars from 1997.
