The hardware you'll receive with our Scanmaster tool consists of the main interface box which contains the microprocessor, memory and various other components needed to convert the voltage and signal levels on the car, to the levels needed for the PC or laptop.
Also contained in this unit are the components to protect the PC from the high voltages and spikes often present on a cars wiring. Without these components voltage spikes from a faulty ignition coil could easily damage the PC.
A row of LEDs on the front of the interface shows the data flowing to and from the car to the interface, and also to and from the PC to the interface.
Two cables are included with the tool. Both are approximately 1.5 meters long and are used to connect the interface to the car. Both cables are very high quality with fully moulded end connections.
